Hassam ". In Just Off 5th Avenue at 53rd Street (à la Childe Hassam) Guy C. Wiggins depicts an oblique view from the southeast corner of 53rd Street and Sixth Avenue, looking toward Fifth Avenue. St. Thomas Episcopal Church's looming gray tower is contrasted against a bright blue sky and pastel yellow-and-green foliage on a crisp spring day. Painted in 1939, the painting commemorates the opening of New York's Museum of Modern Art in May of that year. The painting is on unlined canvas; appears to be in overall very good condition; does not appear to be in-painting under UV exam. Framed Dimensions 38 X 33 Inches
